This gift was given to our Tariqat by the great Qadaria sufi master Bawa Muhaiyadeen. It is a blessing to receive such a lofty bestowal from such a great Qutub – Insan Kamil – Perfect Man.
LA EE LA HA ILL ALLAH – Allah is the Only Reality. Nothing exist other than Allah. Allah alone is Real.
Muhammad Mustapha Rasool – Muhammad, the One worthy of praise. Mustapha, the Chosen One. Rasool, the One Hu was sent. Prophet Muhammad is the chosen one Hu was sent by Allah as the prophet and messenger of the ONE BEING in existence. HIs Light, NUR MUHAMMAD was the first manifestation of Allah in pre-eternity, before time and space existed. Allah was a hidden treasure and wanted to be known. The Light of Nur Muhammad was a spark deep inside the Light of Allah. Upon gaining consciousness of itself, Nur Muhammad exclaimed LA EE LA HA ILL ALLAH, with these words of power the Universe and all it contains was made manifest.
Sula la hu ta Ala alay he wa salim – In the Holy Quran Allah says ” Surely Allah and the angels send prayers upon the Prophet, oh you who believe send prayers upon Him abundantly.” The door way of divine proximity to Allah and the angels is sending salawat and salam (prayers and peace) upon Prophet Muhammad alay he salam. These words Sula la hu ta Ala alay he wa salim mean may the prayers and peace of the Most High be upon Muhammad. Muhammad represents all of creation because all and everything is a manifestation of Nur Muhammad. On an inner deeper level these words mean may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon all of creation through the Light of Nur Muhammad.
This is the foundation of our Tariqat in the west. Our way is based on Quran and Sunnah. The founder of our way, beloved Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba said “if it is not in the Quran and it is not in the Sunnah, it is not from me.” May we disciples of the cheikh here in the west hold on to the Quran and Sunnah in all of our practices.
